How To Set Up Parental Controls

Setting up parental controls is the best way to protect your children while they are using the Web. Giving your children their own user account allows you to restrict the web sites they visit, monitor their usage, and even set time limits for use. Additionally, it keeps your sensitive user information separate.
To set up parental controls, follow the directions below for either PC or Mac platforms.
For Windows PC Users
Click on the Start button, and go to Control Panel. Under User Accounts, click on Set Up Parental Controls.
Select which account you would like to apply parental controls on, and click On for Parental Controls.
Read through and select the correct restriction options. You can block Internet usage as a whole, or just restrict specific websites. Additionally, you can place time limits on computer usage.
For Mac Users
Click on the Apple menu and go to Systems Preferences.
Click on Parental Controls.
Select the user account you wish to control.
